John Thompson and his wife started IVF back in 2011 and three years or attempts led to a daughter Maisie in 2014. They tried and failed with IVF in 2015 and 2016 including one failed natural pregnancy, before trying IVF unsuccessfully with donor eggs in Greece. They were on the brink of giving up until by chance they came across a Families Through Surrogacy seminar.  After the seminar, John and his wife decided to pursue surrogacy in the Ukraine and travelled to Kiev in December 2017 to plan arrangements.  In January 2019 they welcomed Sadie, the sister they thought Maisie would never have
