Marie was born in County Donegal in the northern part of the wild Atlantic way,. She now lives in Ballybofey. She is the second eldest of five children, Born with congenital problems including a missing left kidney, Marie was quite ill as a child, As a fifteen year old Marie was diagnosed with a unicornate uterus, leaving her with only the right part of her womb functional. The likelihood of Mary carrying a baby to full term would be remote. She will share the story of how her sister carried her child, giving birth in October 2013.
