Robert and his partner Sanan live in Umea, Sweden. They decided on Canada for surrogacy, and with the help of an agency were matched with a mother of two children and her supportive husband. Their egg donor was Sanan’s sister in Thailand. This meant their child would carry the genetics from both family lines.  While this added some challenges with Thai and Canadian IVF clinics half a world apart, all turned out successful.  In December 2016, their baby daughter Malisa was born.
