Shannon & Hugh started making inquiries into surrogacy in 2007. They didn’t know any other gay guys who’d used that route, so felt they had to go to LA in person to figure out how it all worked. They googled and drove around and met, in the space of two days, a surrogacy agency (CSP), and their IVF clinic (Guy Ringler’s). Everything fell so perfectly into place. Since then they’ve had their lives turned inside out, in the best of ways, with the help of two surrogates and one egg donor in California. It was a team effort involving not just these women, but a stack of others, and it resulted in us having a daughter, now nine, and twin boys, now six. They are so grateful to have had the opportunity to create a family in this way.
