In 2021, shortly after the birth of her second child, Hayley connected with intended parents through the Australian surrogacy Facebook group and quickly offered to be their surrogate after a few months of chatting. Although Hayley had always considered surrogacy, it became a serious option following her easy second birth. They met in person nearly a year later. Originally planning for two children, Hayley decided to have a third, which meant her IPs had to wait until after that birth in March 2024 to begin the legal surrogacy process, which started in July 2024. Their first embryo transfer in February 2025 was unsuccessful, but the second in March took, and Hayley is now 34 weeks pregnant with her surrobaby, due at the end of November
