Daniel (42) and Michael (39) have been together for 14 years, married for 6, and live in Melbourne. In 2020, they began a four-year journey to grow their family through egg donation and altruistic surrogacy in Canada. Their path to parenthood involved the support of two egg donors and two surrogates, and in November 2025, they welcomed their daughter, Spencer Margot, in Calgary, Alberta. She was born at home via water birth—a special and intimate experience shared with their surrogate, affectionately known as Aunty Zoe. Daniel and Michael look back on the journey with gratitude and hope to expand their family with a sibling in the future.
