Talai and his male partner are from Minnesota. They undertook their first surrogacy journey in the USA, but the high cost meant that for their second child, they turned to Ghana. They initially flew in a Caucasian donor from Ukraine, but when that was unsucccessful, they created embryos in Cyprus and shipped these to Ghana. They welcomed their son just a few months ago.
