Fiona Powney

Fiona had a 20 year journey to becoming a mum. As a single woman, Fiona froze her eggs almost 15 years ago at a clinic in the midlands. Five years later she met her partner. The clinic bungled the thaw process so Fiona and her partner successfully sued. Multiple miscarriages followed. Fiona wasnt ready to give up hope of being a Mum. They looked into adoption, then surrogacy, first in Georgia in 2018. The process was successful and the costs very reasonable – despite a long wait post birth to come home. Fiona will also discuss their second journey in Ukraine which culminated in the outbreak of war and their surrogate fleeing with them to Poland .Their second daughter was born in June 2022.
