Kiril and his husband have a son with the assistance of surrogacy in Canada. Their son was born at the start of the COVID pandemic and with the assistance of the Canadian professionals involved, they were able to get back home to Australia on the last flight out of Canada before borders shut. Their journey took approximately two years between attending the Growing Families conference to the birth of their son. They are very appreciative for the help and advice from Growing Families, Egghelpers, The Create Clinic, Canadian Fertility Consulting and their Canadian fertility lawyer, Alex MacNab. They have found their friends, family and work colleagues to be amazingly supportive. They have an ongoing relationship with the egg donor and surrogate who are important elements in their son’s life and story.
