Ruth has qualifications in Social Welfare and over 30 years’ experience working with authorised carers, children, young people, and families in Child Protection and Out of Home Care (Permanency Support Program) service provision in NSW in a variety of roles. For the past 9 years, Ruth has worked for Barnardos Australia (a leading child protection charity) and is the Manager Carer Recruitment & Intake for NSW. Ruth holds responsibility for the oversight of recruitment (training, assessment and support) of authorised carers and prospective open adoptive parents, and, management of referrals for care placements for children and young people with Barnardos.
