Tim and his husband Sasha submitted their profile at Surrogacy Australia where they started their surrogacy journey. Two months after submitting their profile, their surrogate Lizzy came into their lives. Tim triple checked the email address just to make sure it wasn’t a scam – everything happened so quickly. As a team they attended the 2022 Growing Family Conference where they met their IVF doctor – from the US, their counsellor Katrina Hale and chose an Australian surrogacy lawyer. All three turned out to be instrumental to the success of their journey. After an embryo transfer in the US, fast forward to February 2024, their baby boy Atticus was born in Sydney. It has been an incredible experience thanks to the strength of their surrogate and the support of the village. Tim would highly recommend the Growing Family Conference regardless which stage of the journey you are on.
