What Makes a Great Surrogacy Partner? Insights from Georgia (Part 3 of 3)

Written by: Anita Fiorenza

When it comes to building families through surrogacy, choosing the right partner can make all the difference. With my recent trip to Georgia, I had the opportunity to meet with numerous providers and witness firsthand what sets the best apart from the rest. Through Growing Families’ rigorous vetting process, we ensure intended parents have access to trustworthy, reliable, and supportive surrogacy partners.

Why We Vet Providers

At Growing Families, we understand the weight of the decisions intended parents face. The surrogacy journey is filled with emotional and logistical complexities, and the last thing anyone needs is uncertainty about their providers.

This is why our vetting process is so thorough. From IVF clinics and maternity hospitals to agencies and legal partners, we ensure only the most reliable and professional providers make our list. This commitment to quality gives intended parents peace of mind, allowing them to focus on the joy of growing their family.

What We Look for in a Surrogacy Partner

Through years of experience, we’ve identified key qualities that define a great surrogacy partner:

Transparency: Surrogacy is a journey of trust. Clear, upfront communication about processes, costs, and timelines is essential. Transparency helps avoid misunderstandings and ensures everyone involved—intended parents, surrogates, and providers—is aligned.

Supportive Environments: A great provider nurtures both intended parents and surrogates. From emotional support to practical resources, creating a positive environment is critical to a successful journey.

High Standards: Whether it’s medical care, legal compliance, or ethical practices, exceptional providers uphold rigorous standards at every stage. These standards protect the health, rights, and well-being of all parties involved.

Highlights from Georgia

Georgia’s surrogacy ecosystem is dynamic and growing, but as with any surrogacy destination, not all providers operate at the same level. During my visit, I was impressed by the professionalism and innovation at many clinics and agencies, including  Invitro Life, and Vivomed.

Each organization brought its unique strengths to the table, whether it was cutting-edge medical technology, compassionate surrogate care, or efficient legal processes. However, I also saw the downsides —ranging from language barriers to inconsistent communication from maternity hospitals.

To bridge these gaps, Growing Families works closely with providers, ensuring they meet our high expectations. By collaborating with agencies and clinics, we encourage continuous improvement while helping intended parents navigate the complexities of surrogacy with confidence.

Setting the Standard for Excellence

One of the most enlightening aspects was seeing how agencies and clinics responded to feedback. Many expressed genuine interest in adding Growing Families’ concierge and exit support services to their offerings, recognizing the value of providing extra guidance to intended parents.

While the surrogacy landscape in Georgia offers many excellent options, it’s not without its pitfalls. Some providers operate as intermediaries, outsourcing key services such as legal work and medical care. This approach can lead to confusion.

Why It Matters

A surrogacy journey is not just about bringing a baby into the world—it’s about creating a safe, supportive, and ethical environment for everyone involved. By vetting providers and advocating for transparency and high standards, Growing Families ensures that intended parents can embark on their journey with confidence and clarity.
